We’re deep into October, so I think it’s time to get ready for Sci Fi Month this November, and decide on what I’m going to read and or watch. This month-long yearly challenge hosted by Imyril over at There’s Always Room For One More, and Lisa from Dear Geek Place, pretty much give you carte blanche about whether you read a little, or a lot, watch a SF movie, or TV show, or post about your favourite SF game. It’s all pretty much about celebrating all-things science fiction, whatever the medium. So what’s not to love about that kind of challenge?
I’ve been thinking about this for a while and, as me and mine have been putting off watch the second season of Star Trek Discovery, they’ve agreed to us watching it throughout November so I can tweet and post about the episodes as we watch them.
Not only that, but we also got the first season of PICARD this weekend, so I’m excited about having a Trekking good month, in November! Let’s hope that the fourth season of THE EXPANSE gets released too, so I can add that to the watch-list. Especially as season 5 airs on Amazon Prime mid-December.
As for books I want to read and review? Hmm, that’s a dilemma. So many and so little time is the book bloggers constant mantra. I have a selection of great SF titles to choose from or, if I can, I will try to read all of them.
- RED NOISE by John P. Murphy
- EMBERS OF WAR by Gareth L. Powell
- THE CHIMERA CODE by Wayne Santos
- HELLA by David Gerrold
- PLANETSIDE by Michael Mammay
- SATAN’S REACH by Eric Brown
- TUNNEL IN THE SKY by Robert A. Heinlein
- TIME FOR THE STARS by Robert A. Heinlein
What do you think? Will those books keep me out of mischief or should I dig up a couple more reads? If you have some suggestions, let me know. Meanwhile, who else is doing #SciFiMonth? I’m really looking forward to seeing what everyone else is reading and watching.
